POCAHONTAS, Ark. (AP) Randolph County officials say they expect a 200 (th) thousand-dollar shortfall in its 2009 budget because of increased fuel costs, recent flooding and the recent rejection of a tax increase.
Voters last month turned down a proposed one-cent sales tax increase. The Quorum Court says it may have to turn to budget cuts because it doesn't want to dip into the county's reserve fund.
